Dear Friends,Sonoma Salute to the Arts, Northern California's ultra-premium showcase of the culinary, winemaking, visual, performing, and literary arts, will be held on August 3, 4 and 5, 2007. Indulge in The Salute Celebration, Friday evening's opening night gala ~ A tribute to food, wine, and music presented through literature, film, drama, and the visual arts in Sonoma Plaza and Sonoma's Secret Spaces, on Friday evening, August 3, from 6:00 to 10:30 p.m. The Salute to the Arts showcase event will be held in historic Sonoma Plaza on Saturday and Sunday, August 4 and 5, with food and wine from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; music and art from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Big Night ~ Sonoma Salute to the Arts Live Auction and Feast will be held at Jacuzzi Family Vineyards on Saturday evening, August 4, from 6:00 to 10:30 p.m. The Salute Celebration
A reception for artists and event patrons will kick off the weekend at 6 pm in Sonoma Plaza, following the judging of the Visual Art Competition, which will have been held earlier that afternoon. Artists will receive their Awards as Salute Patrons pass through a tent filled with juried art competition entries and bid on works they can’t resist on Friday evening. You'll receive your passport to Sonoma's Secret Spaces ~ a series of gala parties tucked into courtyards surrounding Sonoma Plaza ~ opening at 7:00 p.m. Sample sumptuous hors d’oeuvres and wine at each Secret Space where food and wine movies set the stage for this year’s theatrical extravaganza. Indulge your sweet tooth at Chocolat, also featuring Ceszanne’s Peaches of Paris; slip into the deep south with Fried Green Tomatoes; take part in the harvest at Crush; savor the seductive flavors of Under the Tuscan Sun; and feel the magic of Simply Irresistible. Sonoma Salute to the Arts Food, Wine and Art Extravaganza
On Saturday and Sunday, taste regional cuisine as chefs present their favorite recipes, enjoy live cooking demonstrations presented by Viking Range Corporation, and sip current releases poured by Sonoma County wineries and local craft breweries.
Browse through exhibits of fine art presented by wine country artists, including Sonoma Valley Arts Alliance board members Claudia Wagar (Vine Art), and Thomas Patrick (Red Wolf Studio).
Stop by the Sonoma Valley Arts Alliance booth to add your own brush strokes to the art-for-all-ages mural created annually during the event; and take a seat beneath century-old trees to enjoy theatrical performances, dance, choral presentations, poetry readings, book signings presented by Readers Books, music from jazz, classical and blues to Sonoma's Valley's high band and outstanding young vocalists.

Big Night ~ Sonoma Salute to the Arts Live Auction and Feast
Raise your paddle high at Big Night, the 10th annual Sonoma Salute to the Arts Live Auction on Saturday evening, August 4, at Jacuzzi Family Vineyards. Enjoy music and an Italian feast presented by Elaine Bell Catering. Taste an ample array of wines, and peruse silent auction lots. Indulge in desserts at your reserved table during the live auction in the winery's beautiful, soaring cathedral room. Long time supporters, Don Sanchez and Cheryl Jennings of ABC7 will host. The dynamic Greg Quiroga of Reynolds & Buckley will preside as auctioneer. The auction line-up includes exciting international trips, wine country adventures, winemaker dinners, award-winning wines, artist-painted large format bottles of wine, and more! Viking Range lots include a full size wine refrigerator filled with wine, an under the counter wine refrigerator filled with wine, and your choice of professional outdoor gas grill or professional gas range. Net proceeds fund scholarships for high school seniors in the visual, theatrical, musical, literary, amd culinary arts; and provide funding for numersous Sonoma Valley arts, cultural, and arts educational non-profit organizations. Proceeds enhance and enrich local endeavors from theatre and opera, to public school music programs and children's art classes throughout the year. The Sonoma Valley Arts Alliance has contributed more than $600,000 to Sonoma arts and cultural organizations and programs through Salute to the Arts proceeds since its inception. Ticket Information Tickets for the The Salute Celebration are $95 per person in advance, $125 at the door. There is no admission for Salute to the Arts. Tasting Packages for this daytime event in Sonoma Plaza are $30 in advance, $35 at the event. A Patron's Pass, which combines both The Salute Celebration and a Tasting Package for Plaza daytime events, is $125 (in advance only). Big Night ~ Sonoma Salute to the Arts Live Auction and Feast is $150 (in advance only). A Complete Package, which includes the Patron’s Package and Big Night ~ Sonoma Salute to the Arts Live Auction and Feast, is $250 in advance only. Benefactor’s Packages are available for $900 (in advance only). Benefactors may opt to purchase packages for four, six, or eight persons.
